UPDATES
(10.13.24) This year we are supporting (3) charities in our 15th year of One Hour Long Cycle (1HLC). As you will see, all focus on Alzheimer’s care and each charity if located in a different part of the world:
Alzheimer's Prevention and Reversal Project (APRP) - USA
Lead by Dr. Dale Bredeson, APRP focuses tremendously on a preventative approach to cognitive decline. For those already suffering, they focus on actual causes, not just symptoms of Alzheimer's disease in order to ensure stabilization, and in many cases, reversal of decline. The APRP pioneered precision medicine approach is making strides in leading us towards a future where Alzheimer's is a rare disease.
APRP supports Alzheimer's patients desperately in need of testing and treatment but cannot afford it.
Alzheimer's Care Armenia (ACA) - Armenia
Founded and headed by Gerontologist and licensed Clinician, Dr. Jane Mahakian, ACA continues to create sustainable programs and services for Armenian dementia patients and their families. ACA has an amazing brain health team of Doctors, psychologists and social workers on site in Yerevan Armenia.
Members of the brain health team will not only provide incredible group activities for dementia patients and their families, but they will also personally travel to an individual's home. I have had the honor of working alongside them in Armenia. I got to witness first hand how incredible these brain health team members are, and the joy they bring to the patients in need. Dr. Jane created the incredible Memory Cafe in Yerevan. It is a wonderful caring location that patients and their families can visit and take part in cognitive games, exercise, laughter and of course sharing delicious Armenian coffee.
Alzheimer's Society (AS) - UK
For over 40 years, Alzheimer's society has been improving the lives of people living with dementia. Spreading the message, increasing understanding, and encouraging early diagnosis have been hugely important. They have also been at the forefront of science and research, back in the world's brightest minds and funding life-changing breakthroughs for patients with Alzheimer's and their cerers.
Dementia is the UK's biggest health and social care crisis. Your donation will fund vital support and life-changing research to give help and hope to someone living with dementia.
